You open a new tab dozens of times a day and see... nothing.

"Everyone hangs photos of their family around the house. Nobody thought to put them on the screen you look at the most."

The digital photo frame is a reported $2.6 billion market because people want to be reminded of the people they love. Aura and Skylight charge $130 to $300 for a device that sits in one room.

Fondly is that feeling, free, on the surface you open all day, in the browser you already use, that travels with you. An infinite photo frame that goes wherever your browser goes.

Simple in three steps

Add Fondly to Chrome, pick your photos, and open a tab. That's it. No account, no feed, and in the free experience your photos never leave your device.

Step 01
🖼️

Add your photos

Drop in photos from your camera roll: your family, your wedding, your kids. They stay on your device, always.

Step 02

Pick a daily word

Choose a gratitude prompt, a mantra, or write your own. One line that means something, greeting you with every tab.

Step 03
🌅

Open a tab, see your people

A different photo every time. Your family behind the clock, every morning, every afternoon, every time.

This is your new tab now

The people you love filling the screen, a large clock, a line that means something, and today's intentions.

Morning starts with your people

Open a tab and your family is there: a large clock, a line that lands, and today's intentions. A new photo greets you as the day goes on.

A line that means something

A single daily line sits under the clock: warm words, gratitude prompts, or a message from someone who loves you. Tap it for another.

Moments, when you want to linger

Tap the photo and Fondly opens Moments: your pictures as a scrapbook, a cinema, or a timeline.

Shown with demo family photos. Your tabs show the people you add.

Wherever the day finds you

A minute with your people before the day starts, and another with them again before it ends.

Morning starts with your people

Coffee, a croissant, and your family behind the clock before the day starts.

And one more look before bed

Tea, a warm lamp, and one more look at the people you love before you log off.

Your people

Your photos, rotating

Your own photos glide behind the clock. A different one every tab, a different memory every time you open your browser.

On-device only
Daily word

Gratitude, mantras, or your own words

A single line at the center of every tab. Choose from curated gratitude prompts, grounding mantras, or write your own intention for the day.

"Begin where you are. That is always enough."
Private by design

No account. No feed. Local by default.

Your photos live on your device. The free experience never sends them to a server. Only the Pro albums you deliberately share or gift are stored, encrypted, behind private revocable links.

Free tier: no photo ever leaves your device

The gift

Design it and give it

Build an album of your photos, add your words, and send a gift link. Your family opens their browser and sees you every day.

The moments it was built for

A new tab is the smallest unit of the day. Fondly is what happens when the people you love live inside it.

The grandparent three time zones away. The grandkids grow in bursts between visits. An album their parents keep adding to means the newest gap-toothed grin shows up behind the clock the same week it happened, without anyone learning a new app: it is just the browser they already open.
The middle of a hard workday. Between the ninth spreadsheet and the tenth, a tab opens and there is the beach from last August. It costs two seconds, asks for nothing, and puts the reason you work in front of the work.
The kid who just left for college. A parent builds the album, writes one line, sends the link. Every tab in the library carries the dog, the kitchen, the family at the lake: home, ambient, without a single "just checking in" text.
The anniversary that deserves better than a card. Thirty photos from 30 years, one line that only two people understand, delivered as a link. Nothing to ship, nothing to unbox, and it shows up every day, which is more than most gifts manage.
A family gathered around a laptop, laughing and waving on a video call

Give it to Mom.
Give it to anyone you love.

Personalized gifts are a $31 billion market because people want to feel remembered. Fondly makes it possible to give your family something they'll see every single day: one $29 Pro purchase on your side, nothing to ship, and free for them to receive.

  • 1 Pick photos from your camera roll and design an album
  • 2 Write a short note or choose a word for them
  • 3 Send them a link. They install Fondly and see your family every day.

Family photos deserve the strictest handling we know how to build.

These are pictures of your children, your parents, your home. Here is exactly what happens to them, stated precisely enough that you can hold us to it.

The free experience is local, and local means local. Photos you add for your own new tab are read by the extension on your device and stored by your browser on your device. They are not uploaded, not backed up by us, not readable by us, and not part of any account, because there is no account. If you never touch the sharing features, no photo of yours ever crosses the network at all.
Shared albums strip location data before anything is stored. Phone cameras write the place a photo was taken into the file itself, and a family photo's location data is usually somebody's home address. When you deliberately upload photos for a Pro shared album or a gift, Fondly removes that embedded metadata (the EXIF picture data, GPS coordinates, and XMP tags) from the file before the bytes reach our storage, on the server itself, never only in your browser. The coordinates are never stored, so they can never leak.
Shared albums are encrypted and links are revocable. The photos you choose to share are stored encrypted on our own storage, reachable only through the private link you created. Revoke the link and it stops working. Delete the album and the photos are removed from storage.
Your photos are never training data and never advertising. We do not analyze your photos to profile you, we do not sell or share them with anyone, and we do not run advertising of any kind. The business model is the $29 Pro upgrade, stated right there on this page, which is what lets the answer stay this simple.

Free to start. Yours to keep.

The people you love deserve to be on every tab. That never costs a thing. Pro adds shared albums, the full gift flow, and AI curation as it lands.

We'd rather you use Fondly for free than not at all. The Pro upgrade is for people who want more.

No borrowed praise

Fondly is new. Rather than invent five-star reviews, we would rather show you exactly what it does, and let it earn its place on your tabs.

🌱

We show it, we don't fake it

No borrowed testimonials, no stock quotes. What you see on this page is the product, plainly. When real families have stories to tell, they'll be theirs, with their permission.

You shape what comes next

The gift flow, shared family albums, more ways to see your people: the direction is set and the work is visible on this page, labelled built or coming. Tell us what would make your day a little warmer, and it goes on the list.

🤍

Made by a small studio

Fondly comes from Plainly Productive, a studio building warm, private tools we actually want open in our own browsers. Your photos are the whole point, never the product we sell.

Make it yours. Add Fondly free and put your people on every tab.

Common questions

Your photos stay on your device. In the free new-tab experience they are never uploaded to any server, never stored in the cloud, and never seen by anyone but you: Fondly reads them locally and that's where they stay, no account needed. Pro's optional shared albums and gift links are the one exception: only the specific photos you choose are stored securely (encrypted, on our own storage) so they can sync to your other devices or reach the person you gift to. Everything else stays local.
Fondly is free. Always. The core experience (your photos rotating, a daily word, private by design) costs nothing and always will. Pro is a one-time $29, no subscription, and adds shared albums, cross-device sync, the full gift flow, and AI curation as it lands, for people who want more.
Many new-tab apps lean toward productivity and focus, with stock photography and a subscription for the extras. Fondly is built around the people you love: your own family photos, a warm daily line, and a gift you can send. One time, $29, no subscription.
With Pro, you design an album of your photos, add a daily word or note, and we generate a private gift link. You send that link to someone, they click it, they install Fondly, and your album loads on their new tab. They see your family every time they open their browser. No account needed on their end.
Chrome is live today. Edge works through the Chrome Web Store. Safari (Mac and iOS) is in development. A web version is coming for any browser. We want Fondly on every device you use.
That bar is Chrome's own, not Fondly's, and Chrome shows it on every new-tab extension. To tuck it away, right-click the bar and choose "Hide footer on New tab page," or open Customize Chrome (bottom right), go to Footer, and turn it off.
Yes, with Pro. You can create a shared album where multiple contributors (a spouse, siblings, grandparents) all add photos. The album then rotates everyone's photos on every new tab. Great for families who are far apart.
Nothing happens to your originals. Fondly keeps its own copies in your browser's local storage, so removing the extension removes those copies and that is all. The photos in your camera roll, your photo library, and your folders were never moved or changed. If you come back later, you just add them again.
Yes, for anything you share. Phone cameras embed the place a photo was taken inside the file, and for family pictures that is usually your home. Photos kept locally for your own tabs never leave your device, so there is nothing to strip. Photos you deliberately upload for a shared album or gift have that embedded metadata (the EXIF picture data, GPS coordinates, and XMP tags) removed on our server before the file is stored, so the coordinates are never kept anywhere.
Yes. The curated gratitude prompts and mantras are there if you want them, and a plain text box is there if you don't. Write one intention for the week, a running family joke, or a line for someone you love; a gift album can carry a note written by the person who made it, in their own words.
No practical one. The free tier takes unlimited personal photos, bounded only by your browser's local storage, which comfortably holds years of favorites. A good set is the one where a tab keeps surprising you and every photo is still one you actually love, whether that is 30 pictures or 300.
